Tamara Micalleff, our specification representative, attended the 30th Anniversary celebration of Squillace Architects on May 30th. It was an extravagant event hosted in the beautiful Squillace office, a converted heritage church in Surry Hills.
The Squillace team invited clients, colleagues, close suppliers, friends, and family to celebrate alongside Vince Squillace and his team. The event featured speeches from Vince Squillace and his longest-standing staff members, there was also video tributes from colleagues, clients, and friends, as well as a surprise musical guest. Harvey Norman Commercial was proud to be one of the few supply partners invited to celebrate this milestone event with the entire Squillace team!
Our Home Builder Reps, Paul Taylor and Nyssa Crowe, attended the HIA NSW Outlook Breakfast this month. They heard from keynote speakers Monica Gibson, Deputy Secretary of Planning, Land Use Strategy, Housing and Infrastructure, and Tim Reardon, Chief Economist at HIA. The topic was ‘Economics, Planning and Infrastructure’. The panel unpacked the future of Greenfield housing, infrastructure challenges and the economic trends shaping residential construction in NSW.
They discussed the planned target of building 377,000 new homes in NSW over the next five years, addressing land shortages, increasing density in existing urban areas, and reducing Development Application time-frames to improve housing supply. They also covered various key issues, barriers, and regulatory controls that affect housing affordability and the delivery of new housing.
This month, Ben Coulthard and Felicity Perricone attended the UDIA Central Coast Luncheon, where they gained valuable insights into the Central Coast region’s infrastructure, funding opportunities and planning reforms.
Guest speakers included Cr John McNamara, Chair of Central Coast Council’s newly established Economic Development Committee, and Michael Rodrigues, the NSW 24-Hour Economy Commissioner, two key players in economic development for the Central Coast.
Commissioner Rodrigues explained the NSW 24-Hour Economy Strategy and the benefits in store for the Central Coast, and Cr McNamara spoke about the role of the Economic Development Committee, its function, and how it can engage with the development industry to understand proposals that support the region’s growth.
Ladies from our HNC Somersby office attended the annual MBA Women In Building Luncheon on Friday, 27th June on the NSW Central Coast. The luncheon was a resounding success, bringing together an inspiring group of women from various backgrounds for an afternoon of networking, empowerment, and dialogue. The highlight of the event was a captivating keynote address by our esteemed guest speaker, Suzy Miller (pictured below), a renowned motivational speaker known for her work in women’s leadership and personal development.
Suzy shared her insights on overcoming challenges and embracing leadership roles in both personal and professional spheres. Her stories of resilience and growth resonated with attendees, encouraging them to pursue their ambitions fearlessly. Throughout her speech, Suzy emphasized the importance of community and mentorship among women, urging everyone to lift each other up and create supportive networks that foster growth and opportunity.
