This month we saw Queensland-raised country music star Keith Urban perform at his two Sydney concerts. The shows, part of his “High and Alive” world tour kicked off with the opening act by American country music star Chase Matthew.
Urban then took to the stage with his hit: ‘Straight Line’ and then acknowledged every area of the crowd before asking where was the furthest from which people had travelled. During the shows he played a lengthy guitar solo as he showed off virtually every virtuosic technique in the electric guitar world as he cycled through patterns and styles. What a thing to witness this in person – the mastery Urban has over his instrument, such a special moment. There were 10 guitar changes across the two-and-a-half hour set, with huge hits with the crowd being: ‘Fighter’, ‘You’ll Think of Me’ as well as Aussie legends THE ANGLES classic: ‘Am I ever gonna see your face again?‘
