Our HNC team were very excited to receive an invitation to a private launch of the new Smeg Showroom this month, and it did not disappoint. On arrival, we were welcomed with an Italian aperitivo: a fabulous Aperol Spritz, Italian Prosecco, and wines. We also enjoyed amazing canapés and a large grazing table filled with delicious Italian delights.

The showroom located at the Woolstores on Huntley Street in Alexandria truly has the WOW factor; it’s absolutely a stunning space. The showroom showcases the entire Smeg product range, including major and small appliances, as well as their professional and commercial ranges. It was a fantastic opportunity for our team to view and interact first hand with the latest collections across all Smeg’s kitchen and lifestyle categories.

During the event, we heard from our longtime and good friend, Smeg representative Charmaine Conyers, who welcomed us to the new showroom and introduced Gabriele Flisi, the managing director of Smeg Australia.

Gabriele spoke of Smeg’s 78 years of dedication and commitment to Italian design and innovation. He shared the fascinating history of the space, explaining that the purpose built, heritage listed building was once a former wool storage centre. After being left vacant for over 20 years, the building has been restored and now carries a 5.5-star NABERS energy rating, aligning with Smeg’s commitment to sustainability and responsible design.

Gabriele also acknowledged the long standing partnership and friendship between HNC and Smeg, spanning over 20 years, and commented that this is a fantastic opportunity to recognise this milestone together with the Harvey Norman Commercial team. The Smeg family value the strength of this partnership and looks forward to continuing to grow together over the next 20 years.

David Cramond, HNC Proprietor, also reflected on our long standing relationship, which was evident in the looping photo slideshow of memories and good times we shared over the years. David shared many humorous HNC /Smeg stories from the past (back in the day) and commented that our HNC and Smeg partnership is built on trust, strong relationships, and great friendship.

This beautiful showroom reflects the evolution of Smeg. It brings together their passion for Italian design and innovation. Congratulations to all the team at Smeg, this is truly a stunning Showroom. We all had a fantastic night filled with lots of delicious Italian flavours, great conversations, and a touch of la dolce vita.
